I am sure many of you follow the blog “Another Mother Runner”, but in case you don’t, there is a virtual race to honor Sherry Arnold, the runner, mother, and teacher from Sidney, Montana, who was abducted and killed during her morning run earlier this month.
The run is on February 11th at 9am MST - they want the earth to shake in honor of Sherry that morning, although if you can’t run then, run anytime you can that weekend to honor her. There are bibs to print and wear in her honor on the blog site, as well as the rest of the info.
If you run in honor of Sherry on February 11th, or anytime that weekend, send me a message and tell me when you ran in honor of Sherry. For each person that runs, I will donate $1 to the fund that has been set up to benefit her children Holly and Jason.
and when you dont want to run, remember this, straight from her blog site…
“remember Sherry when you don’t want to run. when you’re dragging and are fighting the run with every ounce of your being; when you get to mile 11 of a half-marathon and are cursing the last 2.1; when the _________ (rain, hills, wind, your IT Band, whatever the handicap dujour may be) is making your legs feel leaden and your heart even heavier, remember Sherry. You get to be a runner and feel the wind the road, your quads, your exhaustion, your smile. Lucky, lucky you.”
Reblogging again to remind myself
Doin’ it!
